Lemon Sevai

Sevai is a traditional breakfast/ tiffin recipe made with rice sevai .It can be spiced up any way you like. One way is to use lemon, just like the recipe below. You can also season with coconut, tomato and make coconut sevai and tomato sevai.It is easy to make and tastes yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ingredients:
1 cup Sevai
3 cups(s) Water
Juice from 1 Lemon
1/2 tsp Mustard

1 tsp Urad Dal
Curry Leaves
2 Green Chilly, finely chopped
2 tsp Oil
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Bengal gram dal
A pinch of Asafoetida
Salt

Preparation:
1. Boil 3 cups of water.
2. Add rice sevai and stir immediately.
3. Cook sevai on medium flame for 5-6 minutes with occasional stirring.
4. Drain the water completely and keep it aside.
5. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal and allow it to splutter.
6. Add Bengal gram dal, green chilies, curry leaves and fry for a minute.
7. Add lemon juice and asafoetida.
8. Next add turmeric powder and stir well.
9. Finally add cooked sevai, salt and mix well.
