Masala Paal (Masala Milk)

Masala paal is a popular and delicious drink. It is flavored milk and the flavors usually include cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar candy, nuts and saffron.

2 cup(s) milk
2 tsp Almonds
2 tsp Pistachio, finely chopped
Few saffron strands
¼ tsp Cardamom Powder
¼ tsp Nutmeg Powder
¼ tsp Cinnamon powder
Sugar candy/ Rock Sugar (Kalkandu) according to taste

1. Soak saffron in ¼ cup of warm milk.
2. Soak almonds in hot water for 30 minutes.
3. Remove the skin and grind it to a fine paste using the milk used to soak saffron.
4. Heat the remaining milk in a heavy vessel and bring it boil.
5. Reduce the heat and boil for 5 minutes.
6. Add the ground almond paste, nutmeg powder, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder, chopped pistachio and sugar candy.
6. Mix well and serve hot.
