Murungai Kaai Kootu (Drumstick Curry)

Ingredients:
3 Drumsticks
1 Onion, finely chopped
1-2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
2-3 tsp Chilly powder (vary according to taste)
1-2 cup(s) Water
1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Urud Dal
1/2 tsp Tamarind paste (optional)
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
2 tsp Oil
Few curry leaves
Salt

Preparation:
1. Cut drumsticks into 1inch long pieces.
2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, urud dal and allow it to splutter.
3. Add curry leaves, chopped onions and saute till onions becomes brown colour.
4. Add tomato, chilly powder, turmeric powder and saute for 2-3 Min's.
5. Then add salt, drumsticks and water.
6. Cover and cook till drumsticks are tender to touch.

Note:

If you like to add tamarind paste, then u have add when the drumstick is half cooked and then allow it cook until drumstick are tender to touch.
